ABOUT NFCS

International Affiliation
The Nigeria Federation of Catholic Students (N.F.C.S) is the umbrella body of all Catholic students in all Universities and other institutions of higher learning, including Major Seminaries in Nigeria.

We are affiliated to Pax Romana, the International Movement of Catholic Students (I.M.C.S.), Paris, France, which brings together over 80 diverse national federations, associations and movements of Catholic University and tertiary students from six regions.
The I.M.S.C. was founded in 1921 in Fribourg, Switzerland. The movement is recognised by the Holy Sea and is a member of United Nations Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOC) with “B” Status, and accredited consultative status in Department of Public Information (DPI) and UNESCO since 1949.

NFCS and the I.M.S.C Mission
We promote the student apostolate among students in the University, stirring their responsibility in life, in the Church’s mission and in the world. We, with the I.M.S.C. believe students, enlightened by their faith in Jesus Christ, are the leaders of today and tomorrow to bring about a better and more human world.
Inspired by Jesus’ teachings and the Gospel values, students are encouraged to live a spirituality in action, linking faith, intellect and service of others through praying, reflecting and acting right at all levels of society.
I.M.S.C. – Pax Romana has its International Secretariat in Paris (France).
