Catholic
students at the University of Illinois say Pope Francis' new document
about families is a demonstration to Catholics about how to live their
faith.
In
"The Joy of Love" Pope Francis on Friday stressed mercy over long-held
rules of the church for Catholics whose family relationships don't meet
those rules.
Mick
Best is a 19-year-old sophomore studying physics. He said just after
Mass on Friday at a Catholic center on campus the pope's instructions
are an invitation back to the church to some who may not feel welcome.
But Best does not see the pope's guidance as a license to break church
rules.
Natalie
Ang is a 20-year-old advertising student. She believes the pope wants
church members to ask hard questions about difficult subjects rather
than wait for instructions.
